Monique: So, Mike, when they sign up for this workshop, what can they expect to experience over the three days?

Mike: Sure. Well, so we designed this session so that folks can come in with a unit in mind, wherever it is, whether it be something that they have already taught, but want to reimagine, it’s a concept, what could be possible. Maybe a unit that they’ve inherited from their predecessor and they’re like, okay, this needs a little bit of work, I want to reimagine that unit. So they bring that concept wherever it is, and over the course of the three days, they leave, not with a lot of homework or not with a to-do list, but they leave having explored the stories, figured out where their own story fits into what they’re teaching, created Essential Questions that really create space for their students to have rich, meaningful answers, and they leave with a ready-to-teach unit.

Monique: Yeah. I think the three days in person, too, have a really good mix of full group shared learning, smaller group work, independent work, hands-on activities, a lot of reflection tools. It follows such a nice, logical order. The thing that really surprised me was how fast it seemed to go, in a way. It felt people were super engaged and really great feedback on being really well worth their time. And so I think three days in person to show up with a curriculum unit that you have in mind and to walk away with a really clear outline of what’s going to happen and not having extra homework, that’s wonderful.
