return to Big Ideas Home

We often get requests for how to free up time for UbD design work and for ideas about local action research related to UbD. The attached WORD document provides lots of ideas.

This was a great document. The district in which I work is thinking about moving to UbD for EVERYONE! I'm going to pass this article on to the building principals and superintendents BEFORE the program gets dismissed by the faculty. Also, I was looking for a new Action Research project. This article gave me some ideas. Thank you!

Breathing is the way to calm down and think over new ideas. I never say "let's talk about airplanes", I rather take a deep breath and think how I can meditate. It helps when I need to write a http://buyessays.cheap/ paper or an article.

I am needing to know if the suggested steps for UbD planning are subdivided into three areas: 1. UbD Map (is intended to be like a 'treasure box' from whence 'units' can be derived). ... 2. UbD Unit (needs collaboration through action research, and peer reviews, pilot studies) 3. Lesson Plans (daily plans that come out of the two above) This is how I understand it for the time being, but then I saw that you also referred to 'UbD Units', and this has become a bit confusing for me. I did UbD training back in 2001, when UbD was an idea or conceptual framework called a 'backward design' and Dr. Larry Biles, I think his name was, headed a 3 or 4 day workshop on the backward design. He gave out binders that contained the three sectors. I would love some clarity on that as soon as possible. I'm responsible for training new teachers coming into our schools next week on Aug 17 & 18, 2021. Would love to hear from you. My email is frtherez@yahoo.com Thank you.
